The NFL Players Association filed a lawsuit Thursday to block five of the six player suspensions for violating the league's anti-doping policy. The suit filed in federal court here is on behalf of Kevin Williams and Pat Williams of the Minnesota Vikings, and Charles Grant, Deuce McAllister and Will Smith of the New Orleans Saints.

A Minnesota judge temporarily blocked the NFL's suspension of Vikings stars Kevin and Pat Williams for violating the league's anti-doping policy, but the players' status for Sunday's game at Detroit remained uncertain. Hennepin County District Judge Gary Larson issued the temporary restraining order Wednesday at the players' request, saying he wanted more time to hear arguments in the case.

The Vikings remain uncertain whether they will have Pro Bowl defensive tackles Kevin and Pat Williams for Sunday's game at Detroit.
The two were suspended Tuesday by the NFL for four games apiece for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances, but a day later a judge in Hennepin County (Minn.) District Court granted them a temporary restraining order, allowing them to rejoin the team.
There is a possibility the NFL will get a full hearing Thursday, meaning the Williamses eligibility remains up in the air.
The Williamses were among six suspended for taking a product known as StarCaps, a weight-loss pill manufactured by California-based Balanced Health Products.
