TE Bo Scaife enjoying career season for Titans (AP)

Bo Scaife's best NFL season couldn't have come at a better time. In his fourth year, Scaife leads the Tennessee Titans with a career-high 48 catches -- fifth among NFL tight ends -- and 498 yards receiving with four games remaining. And he'll be a free agent when the season ends. "It's great timing, I guess, if you're on the outside looking in," Scaife said Wednesday.

Titans Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Chris Johnson is on the verge of joining an exclusive club among Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans running backs.

With 42 yards on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, Johnson will become only the third rookie running back in franchise history to rush for 1,000 yards in his first NFL season, joining Eddie George in 1996 and Earl Campbell in 1978.

Perhaps the scariest part of how good Johnson has been, despite splitting carries about 60/40 with LenDale White, he is on virtually the same pace Campbell was carries-wise as he reached the 1,000-yard threshold. Johnson has 958 yards on 203 rushes, while Campbell as a rookie had 944 yards on 201 attempts before breaking the barrier in his legendary Monday night rampage against the Miami Dolphins, in which he ran for 199 yards...

Titans Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher said his team needed to get back to running the football after suffering a loss to the New York Jets last Sunday.

On Thanksgiving Day, the Titans passed the test by rushing for 292 yards in a 47-10 trouncing of the woeful Detroit Lions.

OK, it was an open-book test since it was the Lions, but the Titans still aced it by controlling the game in dominant fashion with the offensive line and running backs Chris Johnson and LenDale White, who combined for 231 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

"It's nice to be able to do what you set out to do, and that's what we did. We were committed to it. Both backs got a lot of yards on their own, and they got a lot of help up front," Fisher said.

From the outset, it was evident the...

It’s down to this for Titans: Win and you’re in (AP)

The Cleveland Browns didn't help Tennessee clinch a playoff berth by beating Indianapolis. So it's up to the Titans to win the AFC South title by themselves -- if they defeat the Browns on Sunday. The Titans wouldn't have it any other way. "We're kind of in the driver's seat," defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch said Monday.
