Ravens Team Report (The Sports Xchange)

The Ravens reached an agreement with Pro Bowl special teams player Brendon Ayanbadejo, marking their first addition in free agency.

Ayanbadejo, 31, a two-time Pro Bowl player for the Chicago Bears, will sign a four-year, $4.9 million contract.

It is believed that his $1.9 million signing bonus is the most ever given to a special teams player. He is scheduled to earn $3.3 million in the first two years of the deal.

Bringing in Ayanbadejo is a special for new coach John Harbaugh. The first free-agent signing of his tenure helps bolster special teams, where Harbaugh spent most of his NFL coaching career.

“There are various ways to improve a team and getting one of the best special teams players in the league is one way,” general manager Ozzie Newsome said.
