The New York Jets have re-signed tight end Ben Hartsock, a major part of the league's top-ranked rushing offense last season, to a two-year deal worth $3.2 million. Hartsock, signed as a free agent last August, had one catch -- a 2-yard touchdown in Week 3 -- but was used mostly as a blocking complement to Dustin Keller.

Maybe Thomas Jones should blame Bill Polian. As it turns out, Indianapolis' decision not to pursue perfection, orchestrated by its team president Polian, may wind up impacting the Jets much more than the Colts.
Jones, who will turn 32 in August, had career highs in both carries (331) and rushing yards (1,402) for the Jets last season, his third year with the club, but was released by the team. The Jets wanted Jones to take a pay cut, but he refused to rework his contract and subsequently signed with Kansas City.
