In the often pre-programmed world of the Jets, Brett Favre's candor has been a breath of fresh air.
But on Wednesday, it was more like exhaust fumes, as Favre compared his 39-year-old body to an automobile.
"At some point, I have to fall apart," Favre said with a smile. "I'm not going to lie to you. It's like any car. (If) you drive it long enough, it's going to fall apart, you're going to have a flat tire, or something's going to happen. At some point, I'm going to fall apart. Right now, I'm still together."
The Jets certainly hope so, as they try to begin their, uh, drive to the NFL playoffs.
Like older models sometimes do, Favre didn't handle the wet conditions very well Sunday, completing only 23 of 43 passes in rainy and windy weather in the Jets' loss...

Ben Roethlisberger sat out the final 20 minutes of the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice Wednesday after his right leg slipped while he was throwing a pass. The problem is not believed to be serious, but backup quarterback Bryan Leftwich finished out practice as a precaution. Roethlisberger apparently slipped in some mud on the Steelers' outdoor practice field.

Brett Favre has often been regarded as the king of miserable weather, leading his teams through snow, sleet, rain and freezing temperatures with amazing efficiency. "Everyone says, 'This is your type of weather,"' the New York Jets quarterback said Wednesday. Well, Favre might be losing his hold on that label with each frosty breath.
