Bills Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Bills owner Ralph Wilson has spoken. Continuity wins out over an overhaul.

That means he will honor the three-year contract extension he secretly—and, some would argue, prematurely—awarded head coach Dick Jauron back in October when the team shot out to a 5-1 start. The Bills stumbled and lost eight of their last 10 games.

After a meeting with Jauron at his suburban Detroit home last Tuesday and after consulting with chief operating officer Russ Brandon and lead personnel man Tom Modrak, Wilson announced his decision on Jauron in a three-paragraph statement.

It brought to an abrupt end speculation that the 90-year-old Wilson would eat Jauron's contract and dismiss Jauron, whose popularity among the fan base has plummeted after three consecutive 7-9...

NFL teams searching for coaches saw a big name stunningly burst onto their radar screens. The Denver Broncos fired Mike Shanahan, the league's second-longest tenured coach, on Tuesday after 14 seasons that included Super Bowl titles in 1998 and '99. Buffalo Bills retain coach Jauron (AP)

This is an Oct. 5, 2008 file photo showing Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron encouraging his players during action against the Arizona Cardinals in the first quarter of a football game in Glendale, Ariz. While acknowledging the fans' dissatisfaction, Wilson said the "team played hard all year long and there are many positives to build on." The Bills owner announced he had decided to retain Jauron and the...
